First 'The Event' Review

January 20, 2003
The first review of The Event has come my way from an audience member who attended the premiere at Sundance. You can read the review on the movies credit page by clicking here. While it doesn't seem like a very positive review, let's just remember everyone has different tastes, and this is an honest review of this persons response to the movie.

I have seen two other reviews today in addition to the one here, one was very enthusiastic and the other was as negative as this one.
We will have to wait and see what the other critics have to say, but unless it picks up more support critically in the next few weeks on the festival circuit, right now it is not looking good, and I suspect you may see this film going straight to DVD/Video without going into theatrical distribution.

All of the reviews I've read on imdb.com have been raving about "The Event"... there's been maybe 2 that didn't like it too much but the rest have said that it is a very true, raw and highly emotional film. I really can't wait to see it, I'm sure Parker is great in it.

News reports are currently saying that the Release Date of "The Event" has been pushed forward to an unspecified date in Summer 2003.
