The first item in the newly opened store, is the upcoming soundtrack to A Mighty Wind which will be released just 8 days before it's limited theatrical release on April 16th. Sony is releasing this 17 track (plus 1 video) CD on April 8th, and you can pre-order the CD and read the tracklisting by clicking here. I must say it will be really nice to have a soundtrack to one of Christopher Guest's movies, since we unfortunately didn't get one for Waiting for Guffman.

The soundtrack is superb. It captures the sound and feel of the folk era, while at the same time gently poking fun at it. The songs are wonderful. And the fact that they are so well performed, by people who are primarily actors and not musicians is amazing. The soundtrack is a tribute to the genius of Guest , Parker and the entire cast.
