ParkerPosey.Org Presents...
August 25, 2005

The credits pages will be returning in a very different way. Every week a whole new page will be revealed and added to the site showcasing that film or project in it's own unique design. The first page that's up is The House of Yes. Older projects will have a pretty basic page while newer and upcoming projects will likely turn into "mini sites" with information and news updated to their pages as it comes in.

Parker in Singer's Superman video blog
August 25, 2005

Superman Returns director Bryan Singer has been keeping a video journal while making the film, and Parker appears in his latest entry - #22 "20 Hours in San Diego". You can view this at the Blue Tights website. "20 Hours in San Diego" details Singers trip to the San Diego Comic Con last month while also showing some of the exclusive footage that was shown there. While we don't see footage with Parker, she does make an appearance at the very end of the journal.
In other Superman news, Kevin Spacey has reportedly finished filming his scenes for the movie, which would then likely mean that so has Parker.

July 27, 2005

You can view the official Adam & Steve website, which includes 3 QuickTime clips! The film will also be playing at the Q Film Fest in Baton Rouge on August 20th. I was lucky enough to see this film at Outfest earlier this month and it is quite a joy and not something to be missed! Three pictures have also been added to the Images section of the site.

'Superman' set pics/footage shown at Comic Con
July 25, 2005

The first pictures of Parker as Kitty Koslowski from Superman Returns have made their way to the internet! The Superman Homepage has them posted on their site, which you can view here. Last weekend director Bryan Singer was a guest of the San Diego Comic Convention and debuted five minutes of footage from the movie, which included a very quick glimpse of Parker dressed in all black in a very 1940's look, which appears to be the look that the film is going for. The footage was so well received within the full room of 6,500 attendees that it received a standing ovation and they showed the clip a second time.

New Guest movie 'For Your Consideration'
July 25, 2005

Christopher Guest made mention of his newest "mockumentary" at a MoMA tribute to him back in April, and now IMDb has a listing for the movie. The movie, entitled For Your Consideration, will star the usual cast of actors including Parker, Guest, Bob Balaban, Eugene Levy, Michael McKean, Catherine O'Hara, Fred Willard, and will also star Ricky Gervais, most notably known for "The Office". The brief plot line for the movie is "a documentary crew follows an actor and his entourage from the completion of his movie through a night at the Academy Awards". The IMDb listing also has a release date of January 20, 2006 in the United States. Guest also said at the MoMA tribute that this will be his last "mockumentary" as he feels the genre has been overdone and saturated.

She will be ending her stint early so she can start filming on Superman Returns, which is currently filming in Australia and set for a summer 2006 release. Parker's replacement in Hurlyburly will be Martha Plimpton, best known for her roles in the movies The Goonies and 200 Cigarettes.

June 7, 2005
Adam & Steve will be screening at the Los Angeles Outfest on Wednesday July 13th. Tickets will be made available for public purchase on July 11th. Visit Outfest's official site for more information on other scheduled films and tickets. It looks like a great line-up of films this year!

'Henry Fool' sequel 'Fay Grim' starring Parker

May 20, 2005
Hal Hartley will be shooting a sequel to one of his most popular films, Henry Fool, entitled Fay Grim. As some of you who have seen Henry Fool know, Fay Grim is the name of the character played by Parker, and Hartley has mentioned that she will indeed be reprising the role. Several sources indicate that this will be shot later this year in Berlin, Germany, and will be released sometime next year.

Hartley described Parker's role in this film to the New York Metro as "the well-intentioned, uninformed American who finds out what the world is like."

'Adam & Steve' screening in Fort Worth, Texas

May 13, 2005
Parker's most recent movie, Adam & Steve, is scheduled to open the Fort Worth Gay & Lesbian International Film Festivel on Thursday, May 19th. Tickets are $10 and you can find out more information about the festival and purchasing tickets at the festivals official site - QCinema.org.

Adam & Steve also played at the Miami Gay & Lesbian Film Festival last month, but I wasn't aware of this until after the fact. It seems as though this movie is definitely making the festival rounds, so I suggest you check with your local film festivals to see if it's playing in your area. Feel free to e-mail me if it's playing at a festival near you, and I can post the info for everyone.

On a side note, the novelization of Adam & Steve will now be out in June.

Parker wins the Lortel!

May 3, 2005
Parker won the Lortel Award for her performance in the off-Broadway production of Hurlyburly! The award for "Outstanding Featured Actress" was actually a three-way tie! This was the only win for Hurlyburly, which was up for a total of five nominations. You can read a complete list of winners at Playbill News.

Parker in 'Adam & Steve'/Novel

May 3, 2005
I was sent a very short description of Parker's character in the new movie Adam & Steve. Michael, who saw the film at the Tribeca Film Festival, says it was his favorite part that Parker has ever played and "in the beginning of the film she plays a 300 pound woman (in the 80s. all gothed out). and then she gets skinny and becomes a stand-up comic... but she still does fat jokes as if she's fat because she doesn't want to write new material. and she laughs at EVERY SINGLE ONE of her bad jokes." He also says that the film has had tons of offers for distribution and they are aiming for a late summer release.

In a related note, a novelization of Adam & Steve, written by Craig Chester, will be released in June. You can read more about it and pre-order it at Amazon.com right now!

MoMA Tribute to Guest Features Parker

April 6, 2005
The Museum of Modern Art in New York City will be spotlighting the film work of Christopher Guest for about a week starting April 8th, with a conversation panel featuring Parker scheduled on Saturday the 9th. The panel will actually feature an acoustic performance with Guest, Harry Shearer and Michael McKean with a conversation to follow, moderated by Bob Balaban. MoMA will also be showing Waiting For Guffman earlier that day, as well as Best in Show and A Mighty Wind and other films throughout this spotlight. You can view the complete schedule at MoMA's website. From my understanding, tickets for these events will be available the day of their showings.

Parker Joins Cast of 'Superman Returns'!

April 5, 2005 (UPDATED)
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Parker has joined the cast of Superman Returns. Her character, Kitty Kowalski, will be Lex Luthor's henchwoman. From the creative team of the worldwide box office hit X2, including director Bryan Singer, Superman Returns is targeted for a summer 2006 release and is currently in production in Australia.
It was reported today that Kevin Spacey, who plays Lex Luthor, will start filming his scenes very shortly after June 18th. Parker is playing Lex's henchwoman, but it's not known whether or not she will start filming around that same time. If she does, it would then cut her 12-week run on Hurlyburly down to about eight weeks. Hopefully this isn't so, but just thought I'd mention it.

'Adam & Steve' to Debut at Tribeca

'The Battle of Mary Kay' on DVD

December 11, 2004
Here's one that just completely flew under the radar... the made-for-TV movie Hell on Heels: The Battle of Mary Kay, starring Shirley MacLaine and Parker, was released on DVD on August 31st of this year. Available now at Amazon.com for only $6.99, the title is curiously cut shorter to just The Battle of Mary Kay. This has been something of a highly sought after movie, for which Parker received a Golden Globe nomination, and this is the first time it's been commercially released. Amazon doesn't have a cover image but once my copy arrives i'll be able to scan it for all to see.

Site Redo/Construction [Updated]

December 11, 2004
It was my intention back in September to start redoing this site, but shortly after that my computer crashed and I lost a lot of programs that I use for this site. And unfortunately, then the holiday season snuck up faster then expected and the site was not as big a priority as other issues. I've tried to update with big news items and will continue to do so until everything is back up and running as it should be. Thanks for your patience.

New 'Blade Trinity' Trailer/Site

September 12, 2004
A brand new trailer for Blade Trinity debuted on E! News Live this past week. This trailer features a bit more of Parker then the original trailer, and will most likely hit theatres in the coming week. You can click on the picture on the right to see it larger.
The official website for the movie was launched a few months ago. You can visit it at bladetrinity.com and download a wallpaper that features Parker's character.
And lastly, clips of the movie were shown at the San Diego Comic-Con in July, one of which featured Parker and Ryan Reynolds. The clip showed that Parker's character Danica can be quite humorous (is anyone surprised?) and that she is a force to be reckoned with.

'The OH in Ohio'

September 12, 2004
IMDb.com has a new movie listing for Parker with the title The OH in Ohio. The movie will be a feature film directorial debut for Billy Kent who wrote the script, and who has directed numerous short films and won awards at such film festivals as Sundance and Toronto. Parker mentioned this project back in 2003 in an interview with CHUD.com, describing the film as being "about a woman who lives in Ohio who has never had an orgasm, it's a comedy, it's really good." You can read the full CHUD.com interview here, which also features Bob Balaban as he and Parker discuss A Mighty Wind.

'Asphalt Beach'

September 12, 2004
Another movie that has been attached to Parker very recently is the musical dark comedy Asphalt Beach. The movie stars Parker and Kristin Chenoweth, from the Broadway hit musical "Wicked," and is about two very different girls who cross paths at boarding school. Chenoweth described the movie to Playbill as "very, very twisted."

September 12, 2004
Horror writer Dean Koontz has reinvented the Frankenstein mythos for modern times with a made-for-cable movie. Frankenstein will debut on the cable channel USA on October 10th as a 2 hour movie and, if ratings are well, will possibly flourish into a weekly series. The project features Parker as the lead detective who is investigating a series of murders that lead her to the doctor and his creation. USA Networks has a small site up right now which includes a very brief teaser trailer and contest. You can view the website here. Also involved in the project are Adam Goldberg, Michael Madsen and Martin Scorsese as Executive Producer.
